Many men know about the “little blue pills” and their effects. This article will try to answer the question: “What is Viagra injection, and can it help you enjoy life without erection problems?”

Sildenafil is the main pharmaceutical ingredient found in the pills of Viagra. This substance is classified as a vasodilator and a phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitor. It affects the function of the vessels that supply blood to the penis and lungs.

Important information! Sildenafil is available as:

  • Injection solution.
  • Oral pills.
  • Oral suspension (liquid).

Important information! The original drug Viagra is only available as oral tablets. At the moment, Viagra for injection doesn’t exist.

Injection Sildenafil

Sildenafil injection solution (there are also tablets) is known as Revatio. Both Revatio and Viagra are medications developed by pharmaceutical giant Pfizer.

Revatio injections and Viagra tablets contain the same active substance, but they have different:

  • indications;
  • administration method;
  • active substance concentration.

Doctors prescribe Revatio to people with pulmonary arterial hypertension. It is a rare condition characterised by the progressive narrowing of the arteries and veins in the lungs. The injection route is the most appropriate when the oral route is impossible.

Here are 3 principal recommendations:

  • The recommended intravenous dose is 10 mg.
  • The frequency of administration is 3 times a day at approximately equal time intervals.
  • A qualified doctor or nurse must give injections.

Revatio is not intended for use in urology for indications such as erectile dysfunction. Oral medications approved by the TGA are suitable for this purpose.

Conclusion

Viagra treats erectile dysfunction, a typical male problem with many different causes. It has passed all the necessary clinical trials and got the official approval of the TGA.

Sildenafil injectable solution is not approved for erectile dysfunction. Do not use this medicine unless advised otherwise by your doctor.
